Marina Novitskaya at 1000 Vases during Paris Design Week 2026

Held from September 11 to 13 at 8 rue Chapon in Paris, the 2026 edition of 1000 Vases brought together unique works by independent designers and artists from more than 60 countries. The exhibition is dedicated entirely to one seemingly simple object - the vase - using it as a starting point for an extraordinary exploration of form, material, technique and artistic expression.

Since its foundation in 2018, 1000 Vases has developed into an international platform for artists and designers who reinterpret the vase as more than a functional object. Ceramic, sculptural, geometric, organic, minimal and experimental forms come together in one exhibition, creating a visual dialogue between radically different approaches to the same archetype.

The exhibition has become a recurring part of the Paris design calendar, with previous editions presented in Paris and Milan, as well as a special edition in Dubai during Art Week. Its concept is built around the idea that a single object can become an endless field for artistic research - changing completely depending on the material, technique and individual language of its creator.

For Paris Design Week 2026, Marina Novitskaya presented Evolution - a sculptural vase created in glass. The work occupies a distinctive place within the exhibition: Evolution is the first and only glass vase presented at 1000 Vases across the history of the exhibition, marking a particularly rare interpretation of the project’s central subject. Glass is at the heart of Novitskaya’s artistic practice. In Evolution, the material becomes more than a medium for creating a vessel: it becomes the subject itself. Transparency, light, volume and the fluidity of the form transform the familiar image of a vase into a sculptural object.

Its presentation at 1000 Vases continues the dialogue that lies at the heart of both the exhibition and Novitskaya’s practice - the dialogue between art and design, material and form, craftsmanship and contemporary artistic expression.
